PD Dr. Rasmus Leistner first studied law in Berlin and then medicine in Magdeburg, including time abroad in the USA and Canada. He earned his doctorate at the University of Heidelberg. In addition to his work at the Institute of Hygiene and Environmental Medicine of the Charité, he was active in the National Reference Center for Nosocomial Infections. Dr. Leistner habilitated on the topic of multi-resistant pathogens and is particularly enthusiastic about epidemiological issues in medicine. Since 2019, he has been working as an internist at the Clinic for Gastroenterology, Rheumatology and Infectiology at the Benjamin Franklin Campus of the Charité.
